Our Tampal Rumah program has provided houses for 431 Orang Asal families over the last few years. The wooden house which we use as our template, and which is now our trademark, was designed according to the specifications set out by several Orang Asal villagers we interviewed in the state of Pahang. The house is in keeping with their predilection for a raised abode built on stilts with a small outside veranda and an undivided, internal communal space while toilets and shower/washing facilities are separated from the house, entirely.
